Shirley Graves
President: COMAA

COMAA President Shirley Graves enrolled at COM 50 years ago, attended one year and left on Leave of Absence of 25 years. After marriage and four children, she returned to COM for her second year because she was thoroughly convinced of the importance of a college education. Shirley graduated with an A. A. from COM in 1977.  She transferred to Dominican University as a Junior and earned a B.A. and M.S.

Shirley urges everyone to investigate the advantages of beginning their college years at COM, as did her husband and children, all of whom went on to graduate from a university.

Your community college serves many needs---one of two year Certificate courses, such as Dental Assisting or Court Reporting; a "stepping-stone" to your Junior year at a university, or a place to take special interest classes. Find out what COM can do for your future!

Members of the Alumni Association have the following privileges and benefits:
  • Discount rates to athletic events
  • Discount rates to COM drama and musical performances, artistic and cultural events
  • Use of COM library and online computer facilities and services
  • Invitational social events throughout the year
  • Participation in group planning and service to revitalize the grounds of each campus
  • A free copy of the COM Alumni Newsletter
Graduation is not a requirement!
